How Integrity Guard works

Integrity Guard is in beta. We’re gathering feedback and real-world insights to continuously improve the experience for our customers.

You can enable Integrity Guard within your project’s settings. Once it’s on, it will automatically monitor all assessments in that project without any extra steps needed from you.

Here’s what happens step by step when Integrity Guard is active.

1. Candidate starts the assessment

  • If enabled in project settings, candidates see a notification that monitoring is active.
  • They can continue or cancel (monitoring still occurs if they continue later).

2. Monitoring during the assessment

When enabled, Integrity Guard works in the background tracking:

  • IP address consistency
  • Devices/browsers used
  • Tab or browser switching
  • Question engagement

3. Flagging unusual activity

If unusual patterns are detected, Integrity Guard flags the activity. Examples of unusual activities include:

  • Multiple IP addresses
  • Switching devices during assessment
  • Unusually fast answers

👉 See Understanding Flags and Incidents for what each behaviour means.

4. Results in recruiter dashboard

When Integrity Guard is turned on, each candidate will have a shield next to their name on the results dashboard. A grey shield means the assessment isn't finished yet. An icon in the shield shows the Integrity status.

👉 See the icon legend in Quick Reference Guide to understand what each icon means.

5. Recruiter review

When reviewing results on the dashboard, recruiters can click on the shield to view further details on the integrity status, such as what may have caused a flag.

Final judgement on next steps is always made by a recruiter (see Recruiter Actions When Flags Appear).
