Understanding Candidate Deadlines

When setting up a project you can choose one of three deadline options to control how long candidates have access to their assessments. This article covers project deadline settings in detail so you can ensure your deadlines are set up to suit your needs.

No Deadline

Candidates can access and complete the project at any time without restriction. Use this option for open-ended or always-on projects where access should not expire.

Project Deadline

Set a specific date and time when the project closes. Once this deadline passes, candidates can no longer access or complete their assessments.

Note: Soft Deadline: A project setting that allows participants to access and complete activities even after a set deadline has passed. When enabled, candidates who were added to the project before the deadline can still complete their assessments.

Candidate Deadline

Set a number of calendar days each candidate has to complete the project activities. The countdown starts when the candidate is invited to the project. If the project has one phase, the deadline applies to the whole project. If the project has more than one phase, the deadline applies to each phase individually.

Note: Soft Deadline: The Soft Deadline option is also available for Candidate Deadlines, allowing participants to access and complete activities even after the deadline has passed.

Warning: Deadline settings cannot be changed after a project has been published. Individual candidate deadlines cannot be extended once set.
