Top tips to get you started
💡 You will need to ensure your activities are available to add to new projects in the content area.
💡 Exercises cannot be added to the same phase as assessments or video interviews, so make sure to plan your workflow accordingly
💡 Activity options will be presented to you in a dropdown. These options will be enabled for you by the Sova team according to the modules you have included in your subscription:
Adding assessments
- Assessments that the Sova team have created can be added to your Modern Project by selecting the 'assessment' option in the dropdown menu

Once you have selected your assessment, you can choose an optional display title. This will update the name shown to candidates in their homepage for this new project only.
- You are able to add information before or after your activity, should you wish
- If required, you can also update activity settings once you have added each new assessment to your project. Settings will be updated per activity.
Adding video interviews
- Video interviews that the Sova team have created can be added to your Modern Project by selecting the 'assessment' option in the dropdown menu
- Optionally, you can also create your own video interview activities to add to a project. These will appear in the 'video interview' option in the dropdown menu
- Once you have selected your video interview, you can choose an optional display title. This will update the name shown to candidates in their homepage for this new project only
- You are able to add information before or after your activity, should you wish
- If required, you can also update the activity settings once you have added each new assessment to your project. Settings will be updated per activity.
Ordering your activities in the phase
Ordering activities
If you are adding more than one activity to a phase in your project, you have the option to mandate the order that the candidate would need to complete these activities.
You have the option to either:
- Allow the candidate to complete the activities in any order they wish
- Mandate the order that the candidate completes their activities to the order set in the phase
💡 If you want to adjust the order the activities appear in, you can simply drag and drop them.
Setting activities to be 'hidden'
There is an additional toggle to hide the activities until they're ready to be started. In combination with either of the two options above, this will:
- Hide all activities from the candidate until they have read their phase information
- Hide all activities except for the first activity in the sequence. Once they have completed the first activity, the second will appear for them to complete and so on
💡These settings are applicable only for assessment and video interview phases. In exercise phases, the exercises will automatically be placed in an order based on the timetable for their assessment day.
Adding exercises
- Exercises or live interviews that the Sova team have created can be added to your Modern Project by selecting the 'exercise' option in the dropdown menu
- Once you have selected your exercise, you can choose an optional display title. This will update the name shown to candidates in their homepage for this new project only
- If required, you can also update activity settings once you have added each new assessment to your project. Settings will be updated per activity.
Exercise settings
Once you've added your exercise/s to your project, a new section will appear in the project editor that will allow you to adjust exercise settings.
- Session Messages - email templates for the assessment centre/interview stage can be reviewed and updated. Any changes made to templates here will impact your new project only
- Session Settings - additional settings can be adjusted here. Any changes made will impact all exercises that have been added to the project
- Assessor Information - Information can be added for assessors to review before they join any exercises they have been assigned. This will be the first page assessors see when they enter the page & they will be able to return here at any time
💡In this section it's helpful to include information such as a welcome message, an overview of what to expect, or best practice information for assessors
