The Recite Me accessibility toolbar is being retired from the Sova platform in September 2026. It will be replaced by Sova's own built-in Accessibility Toolbar, which is already live for users working in the Modern Project Experience.
This article explains what is changing, what you need to do, and what the new toolbar offers.
What is changing?
Sova is bringing accessibility toolbar in-house to ensure a more consistent, reliable, and fully supported experience across all project types. This change is also part of Sova's wider initiative to achieve full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
The new toolbar has been reviewed by Sova's Psychology team to ensure all included features are appropriate for use alongside assessments.
What does the new toolbar include?
| Feature | What it does |
| Zoom | Increase (between 100% to 200%) and decrease (200% to 100%) |
| Spacing Options | Adjusts line, paragraph, letter, and word spacing |
| Colour Options | Change background, text, and colours |
| Highlight Links | Makes all links visually distinct |
| Reduce Motion | Reduces on-screen animations and motion |
| Reset | Restores all settings to default |
