Understanding DAC Templates
A template is the structure of your Digital Assessment Centre, think of it as your reusable blueprint.
It contains:
One or more exercises
The phase they sit in
The meeting setup: assign your assessors to your confirmed candidates
The framework you’ll later use to schedule sessions
Once created, you can use the same template again and again to schedule multiple sessions.
Even if you're only running one exercise, you still need a template.
Templates are mandatory because they:
Define the phase
Control meeting setup: assign your assessors to your confirmed candidates
Hold your event structure
Power the scheduling process
đź’ˇ Once you've created your template you can reuse it as often as needed across different days, candidate pools and start times
How to Create a DAC Template
1. Click on schedule…

2. Click on Actions

3. Click on Create and manage DAC templates…

4. Click on Create new template

Adding template details
Once you have clicked to create your template, you can add theÂ

- Name Your Template
Choose a clear, practical name.
đź’ˇ Tip: You can rename the session when scheduling without changing the template name.
For example:
Create one template for a standard structure
Use it for both morning and afternoon sessions
Adjust the session name and start time when scheduling
This keeps things simple and avoids duplicate templates.
2. Select the Phase
You must select the phase the exercises belong to.
If there’s only one phase with DAC exercises, it will be the only option - but you still need to click it.
If exercises exist across multiple phases, a template can only include exercises from the phase selected here.
If you run DAC exercises in different phases, you’ll need separate templates for each phase.
Selecting the correct phase is essential - it determines which exercises are available to add later.
3. Choose a Virtual Meeting Room
Decide how your session will run.
Running it in person or using your own links? → Leave this as N/A
Using the integrated meeting room? → Select it from the dropdown
If your organisation has a Microsoft Teams integration enabled, you’ll see that option available alongside our integrated meeting room provider - Whereby
Choosing a meeting room type now allows you to assign integrated rooms later while building your events.
4. Allowing Candidates from Other Sessions
You can optionally choose whether to allow candidates from other sessions in the same phase to be added.
This is required if you’re running more than one session/templates for different exercises.
If you're not sure what to do here - toggling it on will not negatively impact your process - if you need more information contact customer support. As leaving it toggled off can potentially impact your scheduling, depending on how you want your day to run.
5. Save Your Template
Click Save and Continue.
That’s it - your template foundation is created.
You’re now ready to start adding exercises and building out your DAC structure.
Next Steps
Once your template is saved, the next step is adding exercises (or breaks) and configuring timings.
