Digital Assessment Centre (DAC) Overview

A Digital Assessment Centre (DAC) allows you to host live assessment events in the Sova platform. This can range from a two-way live interview between a candidate and assessor, to a full assessment day with multiple live assessment exercises, such as interviews, role plays, group exercises and more.

Candidates attend solo or in groups and can join virtual rooms with one or more assessors. Assessors are assigned to one or more candidates to observe and score. Each candidate and each assessor accesses an individualised homepage which shows their personalised timetable, information, and their assigned live assessment exercises.

Assessment events can also take place in-person, with assessors viewing their schedule and entering their scores in real-time or later.

Glossary

DAC Template

Templates are used to create a reusable session timetable. Once you have created a template, you will use this for easy scheduling of sessions on specific dates and times.

DAC Session

A session is an assessment centre booked on a specific date and time. When creating a session, you simply select your preferred template, confirm your desired time, and the timetable is ready for you to populate with candidates and assessors.

DAC Event

An event is a single assessment centre exercise (e.g. interview, role play, group exercise), or a break, within your session. One or more candidates and assessors can be added to each event. All assessors assigned to an event will be expected to score all candidates in that event.

DAC Event Group

Event groups are used to more precisely assign candidates and assessors within an event. If event groups are used, assessors will only be expected to score candidates assigned to their event group. Event groups are defined within the DAC template.

Validate & Submit

To confirm your DAC session, you must validate and submit it. Validation will check for any potential issues with your session. Once submitted, schedule notification emails (if set up) will be sent to candidates and assessors. If any changes are required to a submitted DAC session, remember to validate and submit again to confirm the changes.

Self-Scheduling Group

Self-scheduling allows candidates to select their preferred date and time from available assessment centre sessions. A self-scheduling group is a group of candidates who will be invited to select their preferred session slot. When the candidate(s) self-schedule their preferred date and time, the DAC session is automatically created. When creating a self-schedule group, you are able to define the date(s) and time(s) of offered sessions, the template used to create the sessions, whether the sessions allocate assessors automatically, and whether the session itself is automatically validated and submitted.

Rooms

Virtual meeting rooms can be automatically or manually set up. No room is required if the assessment centre is taking place in-person.

Candidate

The individual being assessed and scored on their performance in one or more assessment centre exercises (e.g. interview, role play, group exercise). Candidates are assigned their assessor(s) during the creation of a DAC session.

Assessor

An assessor or scoring assessor is an individual who scores a candidate as part of an assessment centre exercise (e.g. interview, role play, group exercise).

Lead Assessor

A lead assessor can see all (scoring) assessors, log into a session as any assessor, overwrite scores in an exercise or in the assessor homepage and add extra comments.

Read-Only Assessor

A Read-Only Assessor has an experience identical to a (scoring) assessor, except there is no ability or requirement for them to provide scores.

Moderator
A moderator can assess candidates independently from assessors. They can review their own and any assessor scores.
