How the Sova platform is structured: Projects, Accounts, Clients & Partners

Before you start building or managing assessments, it helps to understand how the Sova platform is organised. Everything you do sits within a simple hierarchy, from individual Projects at the bottom up to the Partner level at the top.

The structure at a glance

Four nested levels, from the most specific to the broadest:

Partner › Client › Account › Project

Project

The building block. A Project is where you define and manage the assessment experience for your candidates, and usually represents a single role — or role type — that candidates are assessed for. A Project can contain many types of activity (assessments, assessment centre exercises, video interviews and more), organised into one or more phases, with scoring and reporting handled within the Project via its results dashboard. Projects can be tightly, manually controlled, or set up for a high degree of automation, including integration with an applicant tracking system (ATS).

Account

Projects are grouped into Accounts. An Account can be aligned to whatever suits your organisation — a department, a region, or a particular recruitment flow.

Client

Accounts belong to a Client. This is usually the organisation itself, though it can also represent significantly independent areas of the same organisation, where settings and setups need to stay distinct from one another.

Partner

At the top of the hierarchy sits the Partner level, enabled for organisations that are part of our Partnership programme.

How settings and permissions flow

Many platform settings can be administered at Client or Account level — and they apply to everything beneath them. A setting applied at Client level, for example, affects all the Accounts and Projects within that Client. You can override these lower down the hierarchy if required.
